Camper's Delight's tents are HEAPS
bigger than what you pay for
with other camping
units. It feels more
like
you are in a small
house than a
tent!!! Yet
it is
still so quick and
easy to put up and pack away.
The camping trailer tents use a galvanised pivot
self-supporting framework, which makes it
easy to erect the
tent
and
annex. It also
means that you do not have
to
worry about
ropes
and pegs,
(unless it gets
quite windy). However, if / when
you do use
the ropes and
pegs, all the ropes are
made of
strong
polyester,
5.5mm in
diameter, most with a spring tensioner attached.
Not only is there a fantastic horizontal roof pole support system,
but additional canvas is also on the roof
where most horizontal
roof
bars touch the
canvas, increasing
strength and
sealability.Spreader bars are also included with the package, helping water to quickly and easily run off the roof.
All curved poles are reinforced in the corners for
extra strength.
The tent uses spring loaded push button extendable
poles, which makes it even quicker and
easier to erect.
High quality, sturdy, chunky plastic zips are used
throughout.All canvas used throughout is a
high quality, rip-stop canvas
material, 13 oz thickness,
not
flimsy and
weak.
A waterproof PVC floor is sewn into the tent and comes 100mm up the base
of the wall, preventing
water
on
the
ground from coming
into
the tent.
You have the option of purchasing an additional 5 piece
annex to attach to your existing annex if
you want - 3 piece
canvas
walls, single piece
canvas
roof, and a water-proof
PVC floor.
Having the doors in the centre of the tent is a far better
design than on the edge. This is
best illustrated using
the
usual (smaller) sized
tents
as an example:
If the
door is on
the
edge
of the tent, then there is no room to sleep anyone
on the floor
of the tent, as
they would either be
right in the
way of the door or
right at
the base of the
main
bed - either place is not
appropriate.
However,
by having the door in the centre (which
leads directly in front of
the main bed anyway),
you
are able to sleep
additional
people on the
floor of the tent edge
without cluttering the
tent.
Obviously,
our
tents are much, much
larger in size, but the
same
design principals
still
apply. The other
advantage of having
the doors in the centre
is
that it creates better
ventilation.
There is a U-shaped door in back of the tent, (as
well as the front), which leads directly to the
front of the trailer and
/
or car. Very, very
practical and convenient,
especially when
setting
up /
packing up. Also,
creates much better ventilation. Each door has a mesh and canvas flap, which can be tied back separately.
As an optional extra, you can purchase a detachable internal room dividing
wall for in the tent.
This
is
fantastic
if you want the
kids
to have their own space /
room. The divider
provides complete
privacy
and has a D-shape
zipped
door in it's side, which can also be tied open.
Included is a flexible bed area partition wall
which can be set up in any of
the
following
3
options:
-
Fully closed
- giving you complete
privacy.
- Bed partition
up with U-shape door
open (ie. rolled
up).
-
Fully open -
simply
unzip each side of the
partition and let it drop
down, out of the way -
giving you a greater
sense
of spaciousness or, alternatively, roll the bed partition down and tie it in place, out of the way.
The mattress is 10cm thick, made from high density foam, and covered in a cotton blend material cover.
It is huge, making a large
comfortable sleeping
area.Additional PVC has been sewn around the mattress, to further protect it, and prevent it from making direct contact with the canvas.
The window options are great - all of the external window
flaps throughout the tent, annex, and (optional) additional zip-on room can be either rolled up out
of the way, or used
as
an
awning, (as they all have eyelets sewn into the flaps for this purpose).Included are 6
velcro fitted weather shield pieces which
completely shield the two
side
windows on the
annex and the bedside window if, and
when, you
desire.
All the windows in the tent have both an internal and external window flap, hence, they can be opened and closed from
inside & outside. Therefore, it is not necessary to go
outside in the middle of
the
night, or bad weather
-
compare this with other
tents.The
larger
windows on the tent have
mesh on the
bottom
half and
clear PVC on the top half
allowing you to
only open
the window
flap half way
down on rainy
days, allowing more light
in, without
letting in
the
rain.
All external window flaps have an awning flap across the top of
them, making them even more waterproof.
The annex roof is fully detachable. This is
extremely handy when constantly travelling, and
only stopping somewhere
overnight - it takes
literally only 5 minutes to
set up and pack up the
tent, without having
to worry about poles and ropes - compare
this
with
other camping
units! When attached, the
annex roof attaches
to the
tent roof with a very
sturdy
zip, covered
by double velcro.
There is a lot of flexibility with regard to how
many annex walls you have up at any time, (if at
all), and you are also
able
to interchange the
front
canvas annex walls with a
full mesh wall
(which
is
included in
the
package). How good
is
that?!!!
The base of the trailer tent is very strong, made
of plywood with 2 access panels so you can access
your trailer from
within the
tent if you
wish.
There is also a
very
supportive steel
frame
underneath - it
is important to have a frame
this
supportive,
particularly if
travelling
on
lots of rough / corrugated roads.
There are 2 zips in the PVC wall running alongside the trailer, giving
direct access from the
tent to
the
driver's side of
the
trailer. Not only do they provide additional access to the trailer, but also additional ventilation, as they also have a mesh door in them.
The trailer tent travel cover is made of tough water-proof PVC and is attached to the base via a sail track system. It uses a heavy duty zip, covered by a flap (which is velcroed at the front and back), and 3 straps along each side to tighten down the cover during travel, reducing balooning. The travel cover is a fantastic 43 cm height, allowing for HEAPS of storage of the tent, everybody's bedding, annex, ropes, poles, pegs, etc. etc. and is also very forgiving for those no-so-neat and compact pack-aways!!!The tent is cleverly designed so that when it is packed away, the clean canvas only touches other clean canvas, and the dirty underside of the floor only touches other areas of dirty floor underside. The 4 packing straps are also excellent for securing the packed tent and additional gear.
The trailer tailgate cover is made with the same
13oz rip-stop canvas as the rest of the tent and
annex, and is velcroed
around
all 4 edges. It has an excellent design,
providing
a fantastic seal (even when the tailgate is open), as well
as easy access
to the back
of the trailer.
There is also an internal
zip
allowing the passage
of
electrical cords, etc.
through the walls.
The colour combinations are designed carefully by
using darker colours on the roof to block
radiation from the sun which
contributes to the
high
temperatures in summer. During winter, the
sun's rays cast mainly on
the walls of the
tent.
The lighter wall
fabric allows more
radiation
to penetrate
so that the tent and
annex is warmer
than
those with darker wall
fabric. (For a

There are 4 storage pockets within the tent - 1 at each end of the bed and 2 on the RHS wall. Very
handy for storing small
things such as watches,
torches, etc.Double PVC pole pockets are sewn into the tent where all poles go which rest on the tent floor, thus, further protecting the floor.There are 2 different types of very strong pegs - each is 30 cm long.Also included is a very strong canvas pole bag, (plus a peg bag), with carry handles and zip right along the top for easy access.Waterproofing caps are provided to put on top of the annex poles.The ladder is light weight because it is made of aluminium, and also has flat foot rungs.The D rings around the tent base are reinforced, with additional rings around the tent corners.
